Business Central Consulting in Miami, Built for Wires, Customs Paperwork, and Cross-Border Cash
We implement Business Central for Miami companies and build the link to Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps into the first scope, so your numbers don't stay trapped the way they did in your last system. Our team works from Brickell Key Drive, plans around customers, suppliers, and owners in several countries and time zones, and delivers the build with US based staff and no offshore handoff.
What Is Business Central Consulting in Miami?
In Miami, Business Central consulting is the work of fitting Microsoft's cloud ERP (the accounting, inventory, purchasing, and sales system that replaces QuickBooks, Sage, or a stack of spreadsheets) to a company whose customers, suppliers, or owners often sit in another country. The standard screens assume one currency, one tax rate, and payments that arrive in full. They stretch when buyers wire from the Caribbean, stock expires in days, or a parent company wants numbers in its own currency, and that stretch is where a consultant earns the fee. The job is finished when finance, sales, and operations run on the system instead of around it.
Your Miami ERP Shouldn't Mean Chasing Wires, Claims, and Spreadsheets
Business Central is Microsoft's ERP for companies that have outgrown QuickBooks, Sage, or a spreadsheet-based finance stack but don't need the complexity, or cost, of Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. In Miami, the usual trigger is a second currency, a lender or parent company asking for reports the old system cannot produce, or an owner who wants the numbers without being in the office. Microsoft puts the installed base at over 50,000 organizations worldwide, most in the 20 to 1,000 employee range.
Month-end takes days
Finance is matching wire confirmations, bank statements, and invoices by hand instead of closing the books.
Systems don't talk
Orders live in a spreadsheet, stock in a warehouse tool, and cash in a bank portal, with one person keying between them.
Leadership waits on a spreadsheet
The owner still waits for a weekly Excel file to see margin by customer, by country, or by shipment.
That's rarely a software problem. It's a scoping and implementation-partner problem, which is exactly what the sections below address.
Business Central Consulting, Implementation & Integration
We work across the full Business Central lifecycle: getting you live on the platform, connecting it to everything else you run on, and keeping it optimized after go-live. Most partners specialize in one of these. We built the firm around doing all three without a handoff between teams.
Live, Built to Connect From Day One
The end-to-end process of configuring Business Central to your business, migrating your data, and getting your team live: chart-of-accounts and G/L setup, module configuration, data migration, integration design, testing, and training.
Most implementation partners treat Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps as a phase two nobody schedules. We scope them in from the start, so the rollout doesn't just relocate the busywork instead of removing it.
- Discovery and data audit against your current systems
- Chart of accounts, G/L, and core module configuration
- Data migration and validation from your legacy system
- User roles, approval workflows, and security setup
- Integration and automation design built in, not bolted on
- Testing, go-live support, and user training
- Currency, county sales tax, and payment tolerance setup for Miami companies that bill in dollars and collect from abroad
Connecting to Everything Else You Run On
Connecting your ERP to the other systems your business already runs on, so data moves automatically instead of getting re-typed. Business Central ships with native connectors for the most common cases and an open API layer for everything else.
- Power BI for real-time financial dashboards
- Power Automate for approval routing and PO workflows
- Power Apps for workflows standard screens don't cover
- Shopify & ecommerce for two-way order and inventory sync
- CRM systems (Dynamics 365 Sales, Salesforce)
- WMS, payroll & legacy systems via custom API
- Miami operating tools such as bank statement imports, freight forwarder portals, and timekeeping or call platform exports
This is the layer most partners treat as an afterthought and the one we specialize in. If your go-live is done but reporting still means a manual export, this is where we start.

Before You Commit, and After You Go Live
The advisory work around implementation: license selection, fit-gap analysis, performance optimization for a system you're already running, and recovery for a rollout that stalled or underdelivered.
- Evaluating Business Central against QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage
- Auditing an existing instance that's underused or misconfigured
- Rescuing a stalled or over-budget implementation from another partner
- Planning a phased rollout across multiple entities or locations
- Ongoing managed support after another partner's implementation ended at go-live
- Setting up a second reporting currency for a Miami subsidiary of a parent company abroad
Retiring Dynamics NAV or GP the Right Way
Miami has a long tail of companies still running Dynamics NAV, Dynamics GP, or an older QuickBooks Desktop file held together by one bookkeeper and a set of Excel macros. NAV customizations convert to modern extensions, while GP and QuickBooks each move as a planned migration or re-implementation. The step by step detail for NAV and GP sits on our main Business Central page.
NAV to Business Central
Your core data structure carries over cleanly if your NAV environment is on a supported version and reasonably well organized. The real work is converting old C/AL customizations into modern AL extensions, so they survive Business Central's twice-yearly update cycle instead of breaking on the next release.
Dynamics GP to Business Central
GP doesn't upgrade in place, so this is a re-implementation: financials, customers, vendors, and inventory history migrated and validated, GP customizations rebuilt as Business Central extensions, and your team trained on a genuinely different interface, not a GP reskin.
What This Looks Like in Practice
Neither engagement was delivered in Miami. We show them because the integration layer is the same one we build around Business Central for Miami companies, whatever the core system is.
Cold Storage & Logistics: 16 Sites, 4 Systems, Zero Manual Exports
Core X Partners runs 16 cold storage facilities nationwide, each with its own operator and its own reporting workflow. Their ERP, WMS (Datex), CRM (Salesforce), and payroll system (UKG) all held pieces of the picture, but nobody had the whole thing without a manual pull. We built the integration layer connecting all four systems into a single Power BI model with automated refresh.
Proof the Integration Layer Works, Regardless of Your ERP
United Utility runs Sage 300, not Business Central, but the problem was the same one Business Central customers hit after go-live: seven operating divisions, each with different rules and rates, all reporting through manual timesheets and spreadsheets. We connected their ERP to Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate. It's the same integration layer we build around Business Central, applied to whatever core system you're actually running.
How Miami Businesses Use Business Central
Five Miami scenarios, from the Doral and Medley warehouse districts to PortMiami and Brickell, where the standard screens need a deliberate setup.
Cut flower and perishable importers whose stock loses value every day
Flowers arrive by air in boxes, sell by the bunch and the stem, and lose value each day they sit in the cooler. Business Central converts between box, bunch, and stem, so one receipt of 40 boxes sells in smaller units, and lot numbers with expiration dates send the oldest stock out first. A damaged or short box becomes a credit memo with a reason code, and a matching credit goes back to the grower. Farms that sell on consignment and get paid after the flowers sell need an AppSource add on or a small custom build, because standard purchasing assumes you own what you receive. Power BI shows margin by grower, by customer, and by day of the week.
Wholesale distributors and electronics exporters shipping to the Caribbean and Latin America
A Doral distributor ships mixed pallets of phones, accessories, and appliances to resellers across the Caribbean and Central America. Business Central tracks each phone by serial or IMEI number, so a return ties back to the exact invoice and the customer who bought it. A pro forma invoice goes out first, and a prepayment invoice can hold the shipment until the wire clears, so goods leave only when the money is in. Returned units post to a quarantine location until they are tested, and Power BI shows margin and days to collect by country.
Ship suppliers and yacht provisioners that deliver to a vessel, not a street address
A supplier to cruise ships and yachts sells to a vessel whose bill goes to a management company. Business Central keeps each vessel as a ship to address under the company that pays, with the delivery date set by the port call, so the pick list for a Friday arrival is one filter. Orders change until the vessel sails, so the system tracks quantity ordered, picked, and short shipped, and invoices only what went aboard. A dimension (a tag on every transaction) for vessel lets Power BI show margin by vessel and by port call.
Impact window, door, and shutter fabricators and installers
Every opening is a one of one job: the glass, frame, and hardware are cut to the inch for that window. Business Central Premium builds each order from a bill of materials (the list of parts and sizes) and holds the Miami-Dade product approval number, called a Notice of Acceptance, as an item attribute that we add to the quote and delivery layouts. A customer deposit bills before cutting starts, installer hours post to the job, and Power BI shows glass and aluminum waste by job and by crew. Permit and inspection dates stay in a Power Apps screen or a SharePoint list, since Business Central does not track them.
Bilingual call centers and staffing firms that bill by the hour
These firms sell hours. A call center bills each client per agent hour, per minute, or per resolved call, and a staffing firm bills each placed worker at a different rate for overtime. Business Central does not meter usage, so the timekeeping or call platform exports the hours and a Power Automate flow turns that file into sales invoice lines. Each client keeps its own rate table, overtime multiplier, and billing period, and Power BI shows margin per client and per campaign once labor cost from payroll is loaded.

How Implementation Works
Discovery & Solution Design
We audit your current systems, data quality, and integration needs, then map them into a fixed-price roadmap before any build starts. Discovery runs at our Brickell Key Drive office, on your warehouse floor, or by video with owners and accountants in other countries.
Configuration & Data Migration
Core modules configured to your business; legacy data migrated and validated.
Integration & Automation Build
Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, and any third-party connectors built in parallel with configuration, not after.
Testing, Go-Live & Training
Full functional and integration testing, then go-live with hands-on user training.
Optimize & Scale
We stay on to tune performance, extend automation, and add the Copilot/AI layer as adoption grows.
