Business Central Consulting in Atlanta, From Peachtree Street NE to Your Warehouse Floor
We implement Business Central for Atlanta companies and build the link to Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps into the first scope, so your numbers don't stay trapped the way they did in your last system. Our team works from Peachtree Street NE, visits your warehouse, rental yard, or showroom before anything is configured, and delivers the build with US-based staff and no offshore handoff.
What Is Business Central Consulting in Atlanta?
In Atlanta, Business Central consulting is the work of fitting Microsoft's cloud ERP (the accounting, inventory, purchasing, and sales system that replaces Sage 100, QuickBooks, or a stack of spreadsheets) to how a metro Atlanta company really operates. The standard screens suit a typical wholesaler. They stretch when you sell product by weight, rent equipment by the day, or carry serial numbers, and that stretch is where a consultant earns the fee. The job is finished when finance, sales, and operations run on the system instead of around it.
Your Atlanta ERP Shouldn't Mean a Weekly Excel Export
Business Central is Microsoft's ERP for companies that have outgrown QuickBooks, Sage, or a spreadsheet-based finance stack but don't need the complexity, or cost, of Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. In metro Atlanta, the usual trigger is a second warehouse, a customer that wants supplier reports, or an older package nobody wants to keep patching. Microsoft puts the installed base at over 50,000 organizations worldwide, most in the 20 to 1,000 employee range.
Month-end takes days
Finance is reconciling the warehouse report, the rental log, and the bank feed by hand instead of closing the books.
Systems don't talk
Orders sit in one tool, inventory in a second, and accounting in a third, with a person copying numbers between them.
Leadership waits on a spreadsheet
The Monday Excel export is still the only way anyone sees real margin by customer or by unit.
That's rarely a software problem. It's a scoping and implementation-partner problem, which is exactly what the sections below address.
Business Central Consulting, Implementation & Integration
We work across the full Business Central lifecycle: getting you live on the platform, connecting it to everything else you run on, and keeping it optimized after go-live. Most partners specialize in one of these. We built the firm around doing all three without a handoff between teams.
Live, Built to Connect From Day One
The end-to-end process of configuring Business Central to your business, migrating your data, and getting your team live: chart-of-accounts and G/L setup, module configuration, data migration, integration design, testing, and training.
Most implementation partners treat Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps as a phase two nobody schedules. We scope them in from the start, so the rollout doesn't just relocate the busywork instead of removing it.
- Discovery and data audit against your current systems
- Chart of accounts, G/L, and core module configuration
- Data migration and validation from your legacy system
- User roles, approval workflows, and security setup
- Integration and automation design built in, not bolted on
- Testing, go-live support, and user training
- Item, unit of measure, and serial number setup for Atlanta warehouses, rental cages, and showrooms
Connecting to Everything Else You Run On
Connecting your ERP to the other systems your business already runs on, so data moves automatically instead of getting re-typed. Business Central ships with native connectors for the most common cases and an open API layer for everything else.
- Power BI for real-time financial dashboards
- Power Automate for approval routing and PO workflows
- Power Apps for workflows standard screens don't cover
- Shopify & ecommerce for two-way order and inventory sync
- CRM systems (Dynamics 365 Sales, Salesforce)
- WMS, payroll & legacy systems via custom API
- Atlanta operating tools such as EDI order feeds, driver and crew time apps, and rental check-out screens
This is the layer most partners treat as an afterthought and the one we specialize in. If your go-live is done but reporting still means a manual export, this is where we start.

Before You Commit, and After You Go Live
The advisory work around implementation: license selection, fit-gap analysis, performance optimization for a system you're already running, and recovery for a rollout that stalled or underdelivered.
- Evaluating Business Central against QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage
- Auditing an existing instance that's underused or misconfigured
- Rescuing a stalled or over-budget implementation from another partner
- Planning a phased rollout across multiple entities or locations
- Ongoing managed support after another partner's implementation ended at go-live
- Moving off Sage 100 or another server-based package, with the custom reports rebuilt in Power BI
Retiring Dynamics NAV or GP the Right Way
Atlanta has a long tail of companies still running Dynamics NAV, Dynamics GP, or Sage 100 on a server in the back office, often because one person knows where the custom reports live. NAV customizations convert to modern extensions, while GP and Sage 100 each need a full re-implementation. The step by step detail for NAV and GP sits on our main Business Central page.
NAV to Business Central
Your core data structure carries over cleanly if your NAV environment is on a supported version and reasonably well organized. The real work is converting old C/AL customizations into modern AL extensions, so they survive Business Central's twice-yearly update cycle instead of breaking on the next release.
Dynamics GP to Business Central
GP doesn't upgrade in place, so this is a re-implementation: financials, customers, vendors, and inventory history migrated and validated, GP customizations rebuilt as Business Central extensions, and your team trained on a genuinely different interface, not a GP reskin.
What This Looks Like in Practice
Neither engagement was delivered in Atlanta. We show them because the integration layer is the same one we build around Business Central for Atlanta companies, whatever the core system is.
Cold Storage & Logistics: 16 Sites, 4 Systems, Zero Manual Exports
Core X Partners runs 16 cold storage facilities nationwide, each with its own operator and its own reporting workflow. Their ERP, WMS (Datex), CRM (Salesforce), and payroll system (UKG) all held pieces of the picture, but nobody had the whole thing without a manual pull. We built the integration layer connecting all four systems into a single Power BI model with automated refresh.
Proof the Integration Layer Works, Regardless of Your ERP
United Utility runs Sage 300, not Business Central, but the problem was the same one Business Central customers hit after go-live: seven operating divisions, each with different rules and rates, all reporting through manual timesheets and spreadsheets. We connected their ERP to Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate. It's the same integration layer we build around Business Central, applied to whatever core system you're actually running.
How Atlanta Businesses Use Business Central
Five metro Atlanta scenarios, from the Forest Park food corridor to the Gwinnett and Cobb suburbs, where the standard screens need a deliberate setup.
Foodservice and specialty food distributors that sell by the case and bill by the pound
Distributors of meat, cheese, and produce ship cases whose weight varies, so the order says 12 cases and the invoice says 214.6 pounds. Business Central handles two units of measure well, but true catch weight, billing the actual weight of each case, usually needs an extension from Microsoft AppSource or a small custom one. Lot numbers and expiration dates follow each case from receipt to delivery, short-ship credits post against the original invoice, and a Power BI view shows margin per customer and per route.
Flooring, carpet, and building product distributors
Flooring sells by style, color, and dye lot, and two rolls from different lots can look different on one floor. Business Central models each style and color as an item variant, tracks the dye lot as a lot number so one job fills from one lot, and converts between square feet, square yards, and cartons. Sample sets ship as zero price orders so their cost still lands in sales expense. Builders carry their own price lists, and Power BI shows margin by builder.
Event production, AV, and equipment rental companies
An event company prices a job, sends crew and gear out, and takes both back. Business Central tracks each case, screen, and speaker as a serialized item or fixed asset, assigns it to the event job, and records check-out and return so a missing item ties to a customer. Crew hours post to the job, and damage or late return fees bill from it. A Power Apps check-out screen replaces the paper pull sheet. Day rate rental billing beyond that usually needs an AppSource add on.
Used vehicle dealers and reconditioning shops
A used vehicle is a one of one item: it arrives with a VIN, collects repairs, detailing, and transport, and leaves at a price that either covered those costs or did not. Business Central tracks each VIN as a serialized item, posts reconditioning invoices and parts to that unit, and shows gross profit per vehicle after the sale. Auction fees, title costs, and floor plan interest land on the same VIN, and a Power BI view ranks the lot by days in inventory.
Moving, relocation, and storage companies
A move is a job: crews, trucks, packing materials, and a customer deposit all land on one order number. Business Central tracks each move as a job with a budget for labor hours, truck time, and materials, bills the deposit and final invoice against it, and runs storage in transit as recurring monthly billing per customer. Damage claims stay linked to the original job, and a Power Apps crew screen captures hours and signed delivery receipts from a phone.
